Meeting called to order
Pledge of Allegiance
Guest Speaker
Joe Alberio from the MNDNR office was here to discuss a few things with the Club members. Division of Parks and the Division of Trails & Waterways has been combined now. He discussed the signing of the trails and roads, the
County-wide Road Use Proposal, the Chengwatana parking lot upgrade with a possibility of a shooting lane in with it. He also took questions from the members present concerning opening up more trails out in Chengwatana and the need to try and get new ones started in other areas, especially private property areas that would help get riders out to the State Forest trails. Watch the MNDNR website for postings of the trail openings.
Secretary’s report read; motion by Paul J. to accept & seconded by Brett P.; approved.
Treasurers’ report read; motion by Scott C. to accept & seconded by Hank D.; approved.
Old Business
Price quotes for business cards, membership application/fliers and banners will be coming next month.
Trees for the Chengwatana project are ordered and hopefully the Club will be able to do the planting on
Saturday, April 25, 2009. If you can come out and help, please meet at the Chengwatana parking lot area at 8:00 a.m. We will need several hands to get this done!
Trees for the
Willow River planting project have been ordered also and Terry Peterson will let us know when to come out and get it done.
The Food Shelf food drive will take place at Mays’ meeting also, as it seems it was forgotten by most this time. Please remember to bring a non-perishable food item with you when you attend the meeting on
May 5, 2009.
New Business
The Club has ordered the ATVAM 50/50 tickets for this year. The drawing will be held at the Fall Convention on
Sept. 19, 2009 in Roseau, MN.
Terry P. received a quote for Club insurance from another company, at a much lower rate.
501c3 paperwork is still in progress. Had to re-send with a complete address, not just a PO Box.
Road Use Proposal will be discussed hopefully at the April 14th meeting. Several Club members will attend.
Spring Ditch Clean-Up will be done on
Saturday, May 16, 2009. Please come out and help with this project. The route isn’t very long and the clean-up is very minimal now. If we get several members out to help, the time is lessened greatly.
Spring ATV Youth Training Class will be held on
Saturday, May 2, 2009 out at Wings North, west of the McDonald’s Restaurant on County #11. Registration is at 8:00 a.m. and class begins at 9:00 a.m.
Walkie-Talkie radios for the Club event use were found. A motion by Paul J. to spend up to $200.00 for these with a second by Lois C. and approved by all, with Brett P. to pick them up.
A $25.00 gift certificate to Chubby’s Bar & Eatery in
Pine City was given away by drawing to Tammy Nordahl. CONGRATULATIONS!!
Member-of-the-Month: Brett Peterson, for the new baby; and for all his work with the DNR.
