Meeting called to order

Secretary’s report read and approved. Treasurer’s report read and approved.

Guest Speaker

Mr. Bob Fodness of Duquette, MN asked the Club members for their help on the weekend of July 26, 2008. They are in dire need of an ATV Club to do an atv pull during the city’s Duquette Days Festival, as the party that was going to do it had to back out for personal reasons. After much discussion, it was decided that the Club could and would take on this project. We will be bringing the Snack Shack up there also. Les Bloom made a motion for a $250.00 food budget for the event, approved. At least 12 volunteers are needed to work this event. If you wish to help, call Terry or Brett Peterson.

Old Business

Clean up in St Croix State Forest on June 8th had 9 people come out and help. Thanks to all.

The purchased radio advertising for the ATV Pull/Mud Run out at Maverick’s on June 21st produced a lot of hits to the Club web site - very good exposure for us! All in all, the day was a lot of fun by everyone.

The 501c3 paperwork has been at a standstill due to other obligations, but will be back on track now.

New Business

Pine County Fair discussion:

Members discussed purchasing different small items to give away at the Club booth during the Fair days. Some suggestions were: pencils with Club name, bottles of water with Club logo, key chains with Club name, and plastic bags with Club info. The pencils and the bags won out. We will try and get bottles of water from Culligan and put one in each bag along with a pencil, Club membership application and maps of the Chengwatana and St Croix State Forest trails. Motion was made by Debbie Peterson to go ahead and order and purchase these items, approved. Also to order 10 cases of bottled water with the Club logo on them to be sold at the Duquette Days Festival and at the ATVAM Fall Convention. Debbie Peterson volunteered to make new Club membership applications.

Trail Maintenance:

Chengwatana trails will be cleaned this Saturday, July 5, 2008. Meet in the Red Horse Creek parking lot at 8:30 am. We will need LOTS of volunteer help after the Pine County Fair is over  for some MAJOR RENOVATION projects out there!!

St Croix State Forest trail clean up is scheduled for Sunday, July 13, 2008. Meet in the Tobies parking lot in Hinckley at 8:00 am.

Any and everyone who has nothing to do these two days are urged to come out and help - it’s a great way to go atv riding! The trails can be cleaned up at any time during the week by any Club member - just see Josh Mohr at NAPA in Pine City for the proper paperwork to fill out. Remember - the Club gets reimbursed for most of what is done out on these 2 trails.

ATVAM’s 1st Vice-President, Len Hardy was on hand to speak to the members. He mentioned that the try by ATVAM to do a record-breaking ATV Parade in Silver Bay last month was short by 55.  All those atvs lined up row after row after row must have been an awesome sight! Len also stated that there are now 73 atv clubs statewide and that several new trails have been proposed and some are being worked on already.
