Secretary’s Report for Meeting on March 1, 2011

 

Called to order. Pledge of Allegiance.

Old Business

                Chamber of Commerce dues are $55, voted on to stay members.  Chubby’s sent us a letter to see if we are interested in advertising on their menu board, voted to pass on this opportunity at this time.  Discussion on locations of the next radar run, the decision was to have it at Beach Rock’s on Lake Pokegama on Feb. 19, 2011.   Registration at 9:00, runs will start at 9:30.               Motion to accept by Dave Secord & seconded by Wayne Whited.

 

New Business

            Radar Run at Beach Rocks Resort on February 19th went real well! We make about $240.00 before the check  they  promised to give us for doing the radar run there.  We talked about tentative dates for next year’s Radar Run January 14th and February 11th.  We also talked about ATV Pulls this summer, maybe having a pull at Wings North and the one up in Duquette.  The Pine County Fair Board contacted Terry to let us know they are moving the talent show to Sunday afternoon so they do not have a time slot for the ATV Pull.  Duquette pull is around the 9th of July and the second pull possibly end of August.                                 Motion to accept by Dave Secord & seconded by Wayne Whited.

                       We received a letter from the DNR about our Grant-in-aid money.  We need to use the remaining balance from last year before June 30th or risk losing that amount from next year. Putting the bathroom in Chengwatana would be a good use of that money.  We talked about sending letters to local businesses asking them for bids to have them build it for us.  The tank will cost around $5,000.00 to $6,000.00 by itself.  If we still have money left over we can use skid loaders to fix some of the trails to use up more money.            Motion to accept by Lois Cornelius & seconded by Kim Whited.

                       A donation to the Currie Family was discussed…since they lost their house to a fire in February.  Krista Currie is the CPA that helped us get our 501c3 status for the club, she was a great help and we would like to give back if we can.  A $200.00 donation was discussed.  The Brook Park Fire Department also asks for a contribution for the painting of a new fire truck.  We asked them to submit a request in writing to be brought up at a future meeting.         Motion to accept by Dave Secord & seconded by Wayne Whited

 

Upcoming dates and rides were set: Fun Run April 16th put on by Roy Hoiland.  Meet @ Squirrel Cage in Willow River at 11:00 am.
